Over three years ago, we attempted to get Smoke Wagon Bourbons and Ryes to North Dakota, patience has finally paid off.
Smoke Wagon has been one of the biggest “cult” whiskies over the past half dozen years and is one of the most requested items in our stores…now available at all Happy Harry’s locations!
Founded by Aaron Chepenik and Jonathan Hensleigh, the Nevada H&C Distilling Company was the first registered distillery in Las Vegas…in fact, the city of Las Vegas had to create a new license just to accommodate Aaron and Jonathan’s vision. They began purchasing barrels from MGP in Indiana, and aged them in Las Vegas, and then began crafting their own expressions of fine Bourbons and Ryes. They are also distilling vodka on site at their Nevada distillery.
With four different Bourbons and three Ryes to choose from, Smoke Wagon has something for everyone, ranging in price from $30.99 to $80.99. Smoke Wagon whiskies have received numerous awards including winner of Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for their Straight Bourbon and their Uncut/Unfiltered Bourbon. From their entry level Straight Bourbon to their highly coveted Uncut/Unfiltered…Smoke Wagon has something for every whiskey lover out there.

Smoke Wagon? Does that mean it’s smokey? Smoke Wagon is actually old west slang for the 1873 Colt single action army revolver or “the gun that won the west”. Our logo stamped in wax consists of two crossed Smoke Wagons over the state of Nevada. Below it is our motto and a quote from Seneca, bibamus moriendum est. The literal translation is “drink, for we must die” but the meaning is more along the lines of, drink and enjoy today because we won’t be around forever. We can only assume Seneca meant to drink responsibly, of course.
