Happy Harry’s Direct Offer No. 53

Crimson Veil

What happens when a group of wine mavericks bands together to disrupt the status quo in California? The iconic grape you may think you know, cabernet sauvignon, evolves into something distinctly new that’s ready to be sought after.

Crimson Veil is a new generation of ultra-premium California cabernet. A Taub family passion project born in the Beckstoffer Crimson Ridge Vineyard, it marks the first time legendary grower Andy Beckstoffer has added his name to a bottle of wine outside Napa County — a symbol of the important future in store for this still off-thebeaten-path place.

He’s been called “Napa’s most powerful grape grower” by the Wall Street Journal. His Beckstoffer Vineyards, was founded over five decades ago and is California’s largest private grower. He is the man behind California’s most iconic — and coveted — cabernets. His name on a bottle is an emblem of prestige, one that’s highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts everywhere. In short, Napa wouldn’t be Napa without Andy Beckstoffer and he’s about to work that same game-changing magic in Napa’s northerly neighbor, Lake County. “Lake County will be the next wine country,” Beckstoffer reckons. And “we’ve got the pearl of Red Hills.”

Crafted by third-generation Kirk Venge (named one of the “Top 20 New Winemakers in the World” by Food & Wine magazine) at Oakville’s B Cellars, Crimson Veil signifies the start of a new era in fine California wine where the territory is uncharted but the potential ripe for discovery.

Happy Harry’s was presented this opportunity just in time to impress that special someone for your Valentine’s Dinner. Be one of the first in North Dakota to taste this new generation of California Cabernet!

Crimson Veil Beckstoffer Cabernet Sauvignon—2023

Full-bodied and deeply savory, black fruits are intertwined with cola, leather, and sticky baking spice. Incredible acidity keeps the wine fresh with the chewy tannins of higher elevation fruit filling out the backbone and carrying through its lengthy finish. The red fruit driven profile is deep and concentrated on the palate, and the wood tones are already folding into the fruit nicely. It is very approachable now, and it has the structure to easily age 10+ years.
