Happy Harry’s Direct Offer No. 32Schrader Double Diamond Napa Cabernet Sauvignon—2019
In 2001, Fred Schrader created Double Diamond to make fine-quality Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that could be enjoyed every day without breaking the bank. This character-driven expression of America’s premier wine region is crafted by Thomas Rivers Brown in the Schrader Cellars tradition of excellence which has earned an unprecedented record of twenty-seven 100-point scores from the world’s most respected critics.
The 2019 Double Diamond Cabernet Sauvignon continued the historic tradition of Schrader Cellars by being named Wine Spectator’s 2022 #1 Wine of the Year! A unique expression of the Oakville AVA (which is still 70% To Kalon) with harmonious integration of decadent fruit, refined structure, and silky tannins. Subscribers looking for a touch of that Schrader magic at a slightly more affordable price are going to love this beauty. The 2019 vintage of Double Diamond is ready to enjoy now and will continue to evolve over the next 3-5 years.
Happy Harry’s was very fortunate to obtain Wine Spectator’s #1 Wine of the Year and be able to offer it to our customers. This is an extremely limited offering of only 6 bottles available in the entire state of North Dakota!
Schrader Double Diamond Napa Cabernet Sauvignon—2019
This wine offers intricately woven layers of decadent flavor, complemented by exotic spice components and a refined tannin structure. It highlights all the best attributes of what defines Oakville as the epicenter for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
In the glass, the wine displays a nearly opaque ruby-purple hue. Aromas emerge in waves suggesting framboise, nutmeg, toasted cedar bark, plum reduction, and pennyroyal mint. The sleek palate is marked by mouth-watering notes such as blackberry compote, dark chocolate shavings, cassis, oolong tea, flint, and lavender. The dynamic flavors interact on the mid-palate with a vivid harmony, carrying through to the long floral finish, which lasts for up to a minute. With a pleasing acidity and fine tannic framework, this wine is very enjoyable today and should develop gracefully in the cellar for years to come.
