Métis Red Blend -2018
Brought to you from the world renowned Willamette Valley Vineyards—This label pays tribute to ancestors of Willamette Valley Vineyards founder Jim Bernau — Pronounced “may-tee,” a French word termed for the descendants of both Native and French-Canadian Parents. His ancestors stemmed from a French-Canadian fur trader named Pierre Chrysologue and his wife Kitty Pambrun, who from 1832 until Pierre’s death in 1841 led Fort Nez Perce near the confluence of the Walla Walla and Columbia rivers. They established themselves as a distinct cultural and political force during the nineteenth century. This bottling of the highest quality varietals grown in the Walla Walla Valley celebrates the Métis heritage of Pierre and Kitty. It is a very deep and rich red blend that is built on the shoulders of Cabernet Sauvignon (62%) with Syrah helping to flesh out the midpalate and adding to its approachability.
Happy Harry’s was excited to have the opportunity to bring this very affordable Red Blend to North Dakota that out-preforms itself from the ever growing popular Walla Walla Valley AVA. Be one of the first in the state of North Dakota to wow your Easter Dinner guests with this very versatile wine that will hold up to hearty roasted meats and even desserts with your left-over dark chocolate bunnies.
