Willamette Valley Vineyards Whole Cluster Rose of Pinot Noir - 2021
“Years ago, I began experimenting with the variety I love — Pinot Noir. Instead of destemming and crushing the berries, I gently dropped the hand-picked clusters in a chilled fermenter, pushed all the oxygen out with CO2 and sealed the vessel tight. What happened next was magical — the black berries on the stem started swelling up and turned pink. When they burst, they released the most aromatic Pinot Noir perfect for almost any food pairing.”
— Jim Bernau, Founder & CEO
Willamette Valley Vineyards Whole Cluster Rose of Pinot Noir – 2021
Produced with the Saignée method, involving stainless steel fermentation of free-run juice from their hand-picked Pinot Noir grapes. This delicate whole cluster process creates a dry style rosé, bursting with juicy and refreshing flavors. Bright pink in color with aromas of juicy strawberry, cherry, tropical lychee and vanilla cream, watermelon, strawberries and cream, red cherry and honeysuckle. Dry with a medium-body, round mouthfeel and vibrant flavors of nectarine, peach, honeysuckle and minerality. The refreshing acidity creates a lively and fleshy, clean finish.
This rosé is a versatile wine to pair with food as it can stand up to complex cuisines yet is comfortable with simple salads and seasonal vegetables. A perfect wine for any upcoming Easter meal!
